PROVIDING EQUAL ACCESS TO SUCCESS UNDER AN UMBRELLA OF SUPPORT

Going to School Every Day Is the First Step Toward Student Success

Here are some helpful tips to support strong attendance:

  1. Set a Consistent Routine: Establish a regular bedtime and morning routine to make getting to school easier and less stressful.
  2. Prepare the Night Before: Lay out clothes, pack backpacks, and prepare lunches the night before to avoid morning rush and delays.
  3. Schedule Appointments Wisely: Try to schedule doctor or dentist appointments after school hours or during breaks whenever possible.
  4. Stay on Top of Health: Encourage good hygiene, healthy eating, and regular sleep to prevent avoidable sick days.
  5. Know the School Calendar: Keep track of school holidays and plan vacations during official breaks—not during school days.
  6. Talk About the Importance of Attendance: Help your child understand that showing up every day helps them learn, build friendships, and stay on track.
  7. Reach Out for Support: If you’re facing challenges getting your child to school, connect with school staff. We’re here to help!
